Born in 1968 in Chungking, near to the Three Gorges dam, today he lives in Chengdu, in Sezhuan.
Graduating from the Sezhuan Fine Art Institute in 1992, he worked as a photojournalist from 1997 on for Chinese magazines and newspaper (Chengdu Evening Paper, HuaXi City Paper). He won numerous national and local journalism prizes starting in 1998. In 2008, he presented the Route 318 project, which he followed with North South, finished in August 2008.
